Question 1 #1 is not viable, to limited in parking,#2, has too many nay sayers. The only option remaing to me is #3 and I believe that it can be done for less than the mentioned $600000, and on only a slightly larger foot print than we now occupy, a 50 X 100 slab could hold a two story building. In my opinion 4 and 5 are not viable, simply because if they use of one building by multiple lodges were such a great idea, they would have fould a way to retain the building on Central.
Am willing to support any of these options, but am more inclined to support those that leave the lightest footprint on the schedules and activities of other lodges in our district. As much as we are able, Orlando 69 should strive to to solve our issues independently, of course if there are possibilities that confederations of mutual benefit would be the most prudent, then we should pursue same.
#2 would be my second choice
I strongly believe that Orlando 69 NEEDS its own building. When visitors come to town they find our lodge first. We need a structure worthy of the honor of hosting in style, to represent not only our lodge, but the city itself. I do not believe that taking excessive debt for an immediate gratification is the correct path. Our current building had served its purpose. We need to relocate so that we are the masons that meet in the old liquior store, that perception does not serve us or Masonry well at all.
Undecided on question 1
None of the above
It was a disaster to lose our Lodge on Lake Eola, and later be homeless, we must learn from our past mistakes and have our own lodge.
If 5 is my response to question 1, then question 2 makes no sense
#1 add a second story, but prepare to for number 3. #3, more if the economy turns around. The Lodge and location are important, we should do everything we can to stay there..
Since I have not been in the Orlando area for years,I do not have an opinion, and therefore decline to reply to the above questions. I do know that buildings, temples and shrines are becoming expensive to maintain. Some day we will wake up and realize that Masonic buildings must be used more that a few hours per month, and maybe the cost is affecting recruiting. Perhaps Orlando 69 could meet in the Scottish Rite building or perhaps the shrine building.
I hope that you consider the conflict in the past, that cost Orlando 69 an awful lot of hard feelings and members. Think hard on the past for the future of our lodge.
1 through 5 none. We tried this in the 1980\'s, and lost our lodge building and about 500 Masons who violated their obligations. I will only support something that fully paid in cash.
Only if 1 through 4 is the option
only if another property was found first
we need to close in the front and re do the back of the bilding ti make more room the cost will be a lot less
Is your worshipful master crazy! This is the kind of thing that divides up a lodge, weakens it\'s base and your craft will lose interest in helping the lodge. CLOSE orlando lodge! ludicrous!

none- stating a very economy
We should not sell the building unless we are buying another building at the same time
I love the idea of a Masonic Center type building where we could extend the invitation to other Lodges who may be in the same boat as us. We could join with others or they use the same building on their days. Best of luck with this survey
It\'s a hard question. We obviously don\'t want to take on a daunting task which is why the first solution sounds better but if it were up to me, we\'d restore our position back downtown where we would be more visible. Obie The Great
Is the Worshipful Master going to cause an assessment on the members? how MUCH!
I don\'t mean to sound so cheap but due to my kidney failure I am unable to work. Consequently my familie\'s funds are very limited.
Looks like our Lodge is going to get in the same trouble as we did on edgewater. I believe any of these actions will divide the members. drastic change always causes chaos!

Totally against last two options. Andy Anderson, P.M.
I want to know more about freemasonry
I believe every effort should be made to include as many Lodges as possible in a consolidated Masonic center. I am willing to be the first Lodge to set the example, taking the leap of faith to sell our property.

  • Some Biblical passages in Masonry
    masonic bible

The history of the evolution of our Craft supports my argument that many of the Biblical passages in the ritual actually dates from the time around the Enlightenment period to suggest in a subtle way the need to intellectually break free from the stranglehold the Church has on the mind of the time, thus freeing the minds and brought about the flourishing of science and technology that we see today. A paper by W.Bro. Ronald Paul Ng, Lodge of St. George No. 1152, United Grand Lodge of England.
