From the East: My Brothers, We are off to a great start as we enter this New Year. It was standing room only at the Installation on Jan 8th. Thanks to all those who made the day such as success, such as my dear wife, Sue who put the reception together, Bahia Chapter Order of DeMolay, who not only assisted in the ceremony but stayed and helped clean up afterwards too. The Installing Team, composed solely of Orlando 69 Past Masters did their usual excellent job, Olivet Commandery #4 did the Arch of Steel (and didn’t cut me), the Master and members of Eola 207 for allowing us to use the facility (nice to have the extra room) and everyone who came out to support our Lodge. It was great to have our RW Bob Cunningham, DDGM and MW Dale Gehrig, PGM in attendance.  If that was not enough, you should have been at our first Stated Communication. If you were – you were one of over 40 – Yes 40-- MM in attendance. That does not count the 3 EAs helping in the kitchen (thanks guys!). At that meeting we had another great meal from Bro Fred AND Gourmet Desserts provided by our Sr Stewart Bro Kelly Klatt! We laid out our plans for this year, which include Quarter Project Teams, our Committees, a new Long Range Planning Team and much more. Our first Quarter Project is a trip to the Masonic Home Pilgrimage Day on March 19. One big announcement is that Orlando Lodge is going High Tech! Newly raised Brother Jamie Halscott, through is I.T. support for small business company, has offered to provide internet service, Wi-Fi, firewall, and a new computer set up for the Lodge. We will be first Lodge in the District with Wi-Fi! (No gaming during meetings!) If you haven’t been down to Lodge in a while I invite you to come and join in all the fun and activities. I MUST end by saying a huge thank you to W.: Greg Hoggatt for a superior year as WM in 2010. He led us to all new heights and I just hope to keep up what he started. By the Square, Rickey

From the West: My Brothers, before I focus my thoughts on the month of February, I would like to once again congratulate all of the new Officers for 2011! What a wonderful installation we had at Eola Lodge No. 207, I would like to thank Worshipful Ricks and his wife Sue for a well planned ceremony. I think everything went smoothly and everybody had a good time with plenty of room for our guests and us. Moving through the New Year and at the start of each month, we have a chance to renew the passion that I am sure each of us feels as we plan for the Lodge and its events this year. As the Senior Warden, I have the unique opportunity to work with our new Worshipful Master Ricky Ricks, the brethren, the new candidates, Initiated as Entered Apprentices and the Passed Fellow Crafts as they prepare to be Raised to the sublime degree of Master Masons. With the help of Grand Lodge by providing clear and meaningful materials for Masonic Education, there has never been a better time to create new programs for not only the education of our candidates but also for the education of our brethren as a whole. I also look forward to the impact of Worshipful Ricky Ricks new projects and the bonds I'm sure it will have on the discourse of Masonic Principles to the community and what it truly means to be a part of the Greatest Fraternity in the World!  God bless every one of us and thank you for having confidence in me as your Senior Warden this year.  On the Level. James

From the South: My Brothers, I want to thank you for your confidence in electing my as your Junior Warden. I look forward to a great year and all of the things we will accomplish together. By the Plumb, Marshall

  • Some Biblical passages in Masonry
    masonic bible

The history of the evolution of our Craft supports my argument that many of the Biblical passages in the ritual actually dates from the time around the Enlightenment period to suggest in a subtle way the need to intellectually break free from the stranglehold the Church has on the mind of the time, thus freeing the minds and brought about the flourishing of science and technology that we see today. A paper by W.Bro. Ronald Paul Ng, Lodge of St. George No. 1152, United Grand Lodge of England.
