FROM THE EAST

Where are you going to spend your 4th of July holiday? This is a trick question because I am sure you will be joining all of us at the Shrine Temple for our Family Picnic. Brothers will bring out their little Shrine cars and bounce houses for the kids, not mention that your Master & Wardens will be cooking for you. As Masons we honor this day and we look forward to doing so with you. Don't forget our monthly Breakfast every 2nd Saturday morning. It's a good time to catch up on old & new friends. Grand Lodge went well. Florida now recognizes the Masonic Medical Research Lab as our Flagship Charity. Take a moment to look up the value of the MMRL. http://www.mmrl.edu/

On the Square,

Rickey Ricks

FROM THE WEST

Brothers, thank you for coming by and attending Lodge regularly. It’s you the members that make the difference of whether or not a Lodge will prosper. It is not the Master or Senior and Junior Wardens, but you who hold the future of the Orlando Lodge No. 69. With that said, let us plan to see our Lodge grow, not only in size, but inner beauty as well. Remember that harmony is what brings strength to all Masons. I believe that collectively we the Members can make this happen. Now to change gears, your Senior Warden is in the early planning stages of our Past Masters and Widows Dinner. I can’t do this myself and respectively ask for suggestions and help in both ideas and labor.

On the Level,

James C. Jones

FROM THE SOUTH

My Brothers, I will keep this short and sweet. Half of the year has come and past, another grand lodge is behind us, and we still have another six exciting months ahead of us. Let’s keep the fire burning and keep seeking the light.

By the Plumb,

Marshall Dees

FROM THE SCRIBE

For those of you that have not paid your dues this year, you may have been sent a notice letter. If you have not yet paid your dues, please do so. Suspending Brothers for NPD is not enjoyable, and it may not even be in order if there is a reason. For us to know that, you must communicate with us, and there is almost always something we can do. If you have not been to lodge for a while, you need to come on down. We have raised and initiated a number of new Brothers, and you need to meet with them. For those that might not have yet been informed, Brother Meek was called on the 29th of May. He will be missed. Keep his family in your prayers.

From the Pen,

Bob Johnson

  • Some Biblical passages in Masonry
    masonic bible

The history of the evolution of our Craft supports my argument that many of the Biblical passages in the ritual actually dates from the time around the Enlightenment period to suggest in a subtle way the need to intellectually break free from the stranglehold the Church has on the mind of the time, thus freeing the minds and brought about the flourishing of science and technology that we see today. A paper by W.Bro. Ronald Paul Ng, Lodge of St. George No. 1152, United Grand Lodge of England.
