Trestleboard September 2011
September Trestleboard
The long awaited report from the Long Range Planning Committee was given at the August 9 Stated Communication and we are ready to move forward. The Committee has met five times, published and analyzed one survey, researched legal documents pertaining to the Lodge, received a presentation on membership trends in Florida Freemasonry from RW Chet King, analyzed the membership trend of Orlando Lodge and consulted several construction and design experts. 70% of you said in your survey results that you wanted to stay on the current property and add on to the building. So that is the direction the Committee took. We have sought the advice of a design engineer who made some suggestions and offered his services for a reasonable fee. At the meeting we voted to retain the engineer for development of plans and drawing upon which more detailed decision may be made. We are still very early in the planning stage and welcome any and all thoughts and suggestions. Nothing is in stone and we will continue to work on behalf of the Craft to return Orlando Lodge’s facilities to the edifice worthy of our traditions.
On another note, we learned from our District Deputy Grand Master, R.:W.: Steve Teal, that our Masonic Home in St. Pete currently has openings for new residents. If you are finding yourself in need of assisted living or know of a Brother or Sister in the Eastern Star in such need please let us know so we may assist you with contacting the wonderful team at the Masonic Home.
Saturday Sept 10 is the Masters & Wardens Meeting and 17th Masonic District Picnic. Please come join the fun by joining us for breakfast and stay for the picnic that starts at 10 am, all at the Bahia Shrine Center. Hope to see you there.

From the Scribe; The first notices for delinquency have gone out, if you received one and feel that it is in error, please contact me at your earliest convenience in order to get this resolved. This year is passing quickly, and if you have not attended a meeting this year, you need to come on out and enjoy some fellowship. We continue to initiate new members and that is a good thing, I have no idea what brings them in, but I am praying that they never stop. Membership is the life blood of any organization, and as membership grows we get better and better, and with our history we need to be the best that we can be.
